Steven's Chevron Quilt
This is a really fun quilt that I made for someone equally fun. Steven is my nephew, I was there on the day he was born. This was a Christmas gift for 2014. I had his family to gift and love on. I made them all quilts. It is a deep expression of the love I have for them. How blessed we are to wrap those we love in the quilts we labor over. This was a beast and had to be made with minky and pure fuzzy everywhere because Steven loves the soft & FUZZIES! I hope it offers many nights of warmth and love.
Fishing fun...
This was a little fun strip quilt I made for my little nephew Oliver! He is a happy a delightful baby!

How to say THANK YOU !
We shared with the doctor a special quilt I had made for him when Corban was still in cancer treatment. I had hesitated despite feeling inspired to do so, but pushed on.. In our family we love quilts and we love them to be cozy! It was special fabric from a sweet friend that had brought it to me the night before Corban went into the hospital. I create when I am stressed.... I made 5 quilt tops while he was ill. This one made me think of the Doctor. I so appreciated the long journey of school and sacrifice to become the doctor he is. To be a pediatric Doctor takes someone with a special heart and he certainly possesses it. So we shared this with him from our hearts to his family hoping to share some of the warmth and love that he has given to our family during this journey. I hope it always reminds him of the impact and difference he makes in the world of kiddos with cancer and their families.
To add a special touch to his quilt a friend helped do some embroidery around two sides. My son picked most of the words, I only had to help a little. They are not perfect so it is a little like a word search game. LOL!These were the words. Funny, Hilarious, Husband, Father, Chemo Master, Kindness, Doctor , healer, silly, humorous, caring, tease, crack up, laughter, love, Pediatrics Crazy, Healer,City of Hope, Doctor Saro Armenian, Survivorship program, Thanks for Everything, love Corban.
You can see by this picture the Million reasons he is a wonderful doctor especially for our son.... Thank you!!!

City Of Hope Christmas
Today our appointment was changed and we did not know it until we got to the hospital. So we happily just delivered the goods... We will try to get Mr.Blue Eyes in next week. These are 27 Pillowcases that we made and took to City of Hope's Christmas this year. My sister and I threw our combined fabric together and this is what we came up with. We also took 5 Large fuzzy blankets for the bigger kiddos.

Miracles X2
The story is one of extraordinary miracles in more than one way. A very special young lady that we have been honored to meet, know and love is pregnant. Her name is Hanna. She is from Alaska which, well lets just say that makes me love her all ready since I lived there in my early twenties. Just last year she came over to our home and gave our son Mr.Blue Eyes a blanket she had made. It was a for his hospital stay and chemo treatment. She gave him a pep talk and wowed me with her ability to reach him in a way that none of us could. She empathised and encouraged him. Why could she do this? She had just gotten over her second battle with Lymphoma herself.
Her hair was just growing back she was steal week and recovering herself.
Her doctors told her that she would NEVER have children....She being the optimist that she is had finally decided adoption would be great. Well baby A & B came against all odds and with a huge shock to her and her husband .
They will be holding two of their very own babies by Christmas 2014.
I had really reflected on what I could do for her and the babies. I decided that It would be fitting as a mother to share something so personal and special from my heart. I hope they remind her of the warmth and love that she so sweetly shared with a little 9 year old boy...

Addiction
I always say to myself I am not making another jean quilt. I seem to have an addiction to torturing myself. I do love how they turn out. I am taking a break for a while but I know those old jeans will call to me again...

Baby Quilt
Having a baby sister have her first baby is more than special. I remember when she was born I was 11 years old and adored her. I love her so much and wish we lived closer. I hope when she wraps her baby girl in this they both feel my love. This was taken today at her baby shower 900 miles away. Love you both!

City Of Hope
These are pictures of my son and I together over the last few months. He has had ALCL Lymphoma. This has been a really hard thing for all of us to go through especially him. However in the dark momoent and days there was always God and the GIVERS.... Let me explain. Ya see when your child suddenly gets diognsed with a life threating disease your never really prepared for what lies ahead. Your not ready for Pet Scans on 9th Birthdays and all the hard stuff that comes with Cancer. However along the way came tender mercies from the GIVERS. A Pillow cases on the pillow for surgery to get a spinal tap. Toys that brought smiles, blankets to gave comfort.
SO I KNOW THAT THESE LITTLE THINGS THAT SEEM SO SMALL ARE NOT THEY ARE BIG! THE GIFT FROM GIVERS CAN CHANGE A DARK NIGHT TO A STAR LITE SKY.
This Pillow case was given to him on the day of his last chemo with a lego inside!!!
Mr. Blue Eyes has been sewing his little heart out. So touching even for me, So this is his tower of peace, love and good will to the children at City of Hope! For me as a mom it has been therapeutic remembering the blankets and pillowcases we were given during this truly difficult time. We all can make a difference one step and one day at a time. Tonight my ache fingers would say one pin prick at a time!
It truly matters and I know more than ever that these gifts for the children transcend the actual physical representation that they hold....
